What do you want to be when you grow up.
For Amy Peters, that question never had a simple answer. From a young age, she felt drawn to a life that could evolve naturally rather than follow a fixed path. That same belief now shapes how she approaches yoga. There is no one right way. A personal practice, like life itself, is fluid and ever changing.
Before teaching yoga full time, Amy spent over fifteen years as a middle school teacher in the California public school system. While she loved teaching, she reached a point where she wanted to show her students how to truly go after their dreams, not just talk about them. That decision was both scary and freeing. Eventually, she resigned from the classroom and moved to an island to pursue yoga as her full time path. Her guiding belief became simple. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.
Distance running was once a major source of inspiration in Amy’s life, until injury brought that chapter to an abrupt end. What followed was a period of fear, uncertainty, and loss of identity. She later experienced severe vertigo, leaving her without a sense of balance or direction, both physically and emotionally.
Through time, patience, and a deep commitment to her yoga practice, Amy slowly rebuilt her confidence and sense of self. Yoga became more than movement. It became a way of living, healing, and reconnecting with inner strength. What once felt taken away gradually returned, stronger and empowered.
Amy has been teaching yoga for 14 years. Her classes emphasize mindful movement, breath awareness, and practices that support everyday life. She teaches from experience, offering students tools to feel more at ease in their bodies and more present in their lives.
Living and teaching in California shaped Amy’s understanding of yoga community, from traditional studio settings to gyms and larger group environments. Her time in Hawaii further deepened this connection, giving her the opportunity to build a yoga community rooted in authenticity, creativity, and genuine human connection.
Throughout her journey, Amy has organized fundraising events that blend fitness and yoga, served as a brand ambassador for Fabletics, guided yoga for the Las Vegas Raiders, and led classes on stage at the International Market Place in Waikiki. She’s even taught at the coveted Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas. The variety of experiences she has had continues to influence her teaching style, allowing her to meet students where they are.
Above all, Amy values connection. Her greatest goal is to create meaningful relationships with the people she teaches. She believes that her students are her greatest teachers, and every class is an opportunity to learn, grow, and share space together.
